Metamorphosis of a City

Barcelona stands as an heir to the Roman Empire, preserving more than 2,000 years of history and splendor right beneath our feet. Founded by the Romans in the first century, Barcelona´s historical context, uses of public and private space and traditions, all dating back to the city´s first citizens, have stayed strong in our culture. We will then jump forward in history into Medieval Barcelona, visiting the best known and beloved streets around the Cathedral of Barcelona and La Ribera District.

Finally, we will go through Barceloneta, stopping at the MAPFRE towers, the perfect example of the international gains from hosting the 1992 Olympics. Here will also explain the transformation of the city’s waterfront. Barcelona is truly an ever-morphing city.
