Barcelona's Seafront

Since its origin, Barcelona has been a port, serving to solve environmental challenges, change the waterfront for the present day necessities, and provide beauty and enjoyment. With this tour we will explore the history of Barcelona through the framework of the romance between the city and the sea.

We will visit the Maritime Museum of Barcelona to understand how Barcelona has always been oriented toward the sea. From the medieval “Drassanes”, an exceptional Catalan gothic work, we will come to know "Port Vell", including all of the renovations that took place for the 1992 Olympics.

We will also take you through the marine neighborhood of Barcelona. Here we understand how the Olympic Village and the Forum were seen as the last attempt to reconcile the city with the sea.
