Ancient Barcelona Cuisine

The 16th and 17th centuries made up one of the richest culinary moments of all time in Barcelona. With the arrival influences from around the world and the emergence of many religious orders in the city, the growth of new culinary practices as well as the appearance of many areas dedicated to food (taverns, markets, etc.) was inevitable. During the tour we will hear about recipes of the time, the famous book “Calaix de Sastre”, restaurants that have been transformed from convents and visit Barcelona´s infamous fresh produce market, La Boqueria.
